ABSTRACT
The present study aimed at examining the performances of transport companies not domiciled in Enugu state. The study sought to ascertain the extent to which the cost of maintenance impact on the performance of transport companies, determine the nature of the relationship between the level of organisational structure and performance of transport companies. The survey research design was adopted. The population of the study was 6840, from which the sample size of 378 staff was determined using Miller and Brewer’s formula. The sample size was determined using the purposive and simple random sampling techniques. The study employed both descriptive and inferential statistical tools. The descriptivestatistical tools used for data analysis were frequencies, percentages, and averages, while the Pearson moment correlation coefficient and the simple regression were the inferential statistical tools used to test the hypotheses. The results of the study indicated that the extent to which cost of maintenance affect the performance of transport companies is significant and that there is a positive relationship between organisational structure and performance of transport companies. Based on the findings of the study, the study concludes that the cost of maintenance and organisational structure impact on the performance of transport companies not domiciled in Enugu state
